Patreece Banks-Lewis Art

Patreece Banks-Lewis in her own words:

My birthplace is a small town in the southern region of Alabama called Daphne. I attended Faulkner State and the University of Montevallo in Alabama. I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia with my amazing husband and two fabulously funny and fantastic children.

This painting is a reflection of “The Blues”.

Material: acrylic and tempera on canvas

Flower girl

I consider this piece my “creativity on the fly.” No real inspiration other than to create a piece that represents innocence.

Material: cut paper, acrylic and tempera on two 16×20 canvases. Sash is made from real fabric and the bouquet is cut paper.

American soldier

I wanted to portray an image of a patriotic soldier who fought for a country that often times didn't fight for him.

Material: acrylic and tempera on canvas

Unconventional Beauty

Often times stronger black features are not considered a standard of beauty. I wanted to do a painting where the features are exaggerated and enhanced and done beautifully.

Material: acrylic, mixed media (real hair and jewelry)

Catching a breeze

I wanted to create a sense of movement in a two-dimensional mixed media piece with real locks.

Material: Acrylic and tempera with cloth and real hair on canvas. The Tank top is a real t-shirt and the hairs are real locks.

Your work is BEAUTIFUL! I would like to see more. Do you have a website/store? What’s your price range and how much is the Blues piece and Dreadlock 2 dimensional piece?
